Ben & Jerry’s Introduce Pittsburgh-Inspired Pierogi Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry’s have long been known for their imaginative ice cream flavors, but the latest one promises to take this to a new level. The Pittsburgh-inspired offering, called “Gastronomy Pierogi” will be nationally launched during the summer months but is having a local soft release today.

“Just go to your local purveyor of fine ice cream in Southwestern PA and ask for pierogi flavor.”

Gastronomy Pierogi can be enjoyed in a waffle cone on a warm day, or can be melted onto freshly made pierogies and onions in place of sour cream.

“Whatever floats your boat, really.”

Should it prove a roaring success, Ben & Jerry’s are planning more Pittsburgh-themed ice cream flavors for 2021, including one being developed in conjunction with Primanti Brothers.

“It doesn’t have a name yet but we can confirm it will be coleslaw flavored with real chunks of cheesesteak and french fry in it.”
