Chef Boyardee Products Recalled By USDA Because “They’re Chef Boyardee Products”

The USDA has recalled thousands of pounds of Chef Boyardee products. Though the initial reason given was allergen mislabeling, a revised statement confirmed that was not the real reason.

“We simply got to thinking about what Chef Boyardee products were, and decided no. Just…. no.”

Asked for a more specific explanation, a USDA spokesperson added that there was a real danger consumers could mistake Chef Boyardee products for Italian food.

“If you still need convincing and you’re over the age of ten, just try them.”

Reached for comment, the company that sells Chef Boyardee was sanguine about the development.

“To be frank we’re amazed we got away with it for this long.”
