Court Ruling Granting Immigrant Children Toothpaste & Place To Sleep Risks Slippery Slope To Shampoo & Pillows

The Supreme Court has ruled against the Trump Administration saying that immigrant children in detention must be given toothpaste and access to a place where sleep is possible. The decision was immediately denounced as wrong and irresponsible.

“This reckless ruling could lead to these young children expecting to have a pillow to rest their little heads on and, God forbid, some shampoo!”

It was further criticised for undoing the standing of the United States on the global stage.

“Our reputation as a country that knows the best way to look after children is to rip them from their parents and corral them under brightly lit underpasses is at risk.”

Futhermore, it was pointed out that this could lead to unrealistic expectations and future disappointment should the children be allowed to stay and live in the United States legally.

“We let many of our native-born children go hungry by not giving their working parents a living wage, so allowing these immigrants food and a safe environment is false advertising!”
