Leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci today said a new COVID wave fueled by the highly transmissible delta plus variant was likely, but he said the bad news doesn’t end there.

“We are also facing a new wave of spiked drinks in the very near future.”

While most people know how to mitigate COVID transmission by now, Fauci said it was important for everyone to brush up on tools to prevent the new threat.

“No drink must be left uncovered when not being imbibed by its owner.”

He said, much like COVID, the threat was greatest when going out to bars and restaurants, while drinking at home was safer.

“But this new threat is very cunning, so I urge you to remain vigilant at all times.”
