Controversy surrounds the traditional turkey pardoning this Thanksgiving after President Trump demanded the spared birds, Wishbone and Drumstick, express more gratitude for all he has done for them.

The lucky turkeys duly complied, however Wishbone’s father, LeVar ButterBall, criticized Trump for demanding to be lavished with praise for what is an established annual tradition.

“White House staffers did all the real work to spare my child. Trump just turned up to take the credit at the end.”

Trump wasted no time condemning ButterBall for being ungrateful and foolish.

“I should have left those turkeys to be someone’s Thanksgiving dinner.”

The dispute continues.
