Drivers in the downtown D.C. area are being forewarned about a huge pile-up involving moving trucks outside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that is bringing traffic to a standstill.

“Seems like there’s always people vacating this residence.”

Police at the scene said the accident was largely unavoidable.

“Moving trucks kept coming all trying to get to the same address. I don’t see what could have been done.”

The scale of damage was like nothing they had ever seen.

“Occasionally you have a fender bender when moving trucks jockey for position when more than one person is leaving an apartment block on the same day. But never anything like this.”

They are asking people to stay away while they attempt to clear the wreckage, but fear this may not be the end of it.

“Something tells me a couple of United Van Lines tractor trailers and god knows how many U-hauls are already on their way here.”
