North Korean leader Kim Jong-un pledged today to bring up the issue of human rights violations by the United States during nuclear summit between himself and President Trump.
“Though our first successful meeting purposefully avoided the delicate subject of human rights entirely, I can hold my tongue no longer about what happened at the US border.”
Kim said he was ‘sickened’ by the sight of families being forcibly wrenched apart, something he could never have on his conscience.
“When I condemn someone to death or consign them to the gulag I make sure to keep the entire family intact, even down to distant cousins.”
Though President Trump has reversed his position by issuing an executive order that families not be separated, Kim says there needs to be a method to ensure that he keeps to his word.
“I am happy to offer my own government’s services to do unannounced spot checks to verify that the United States continues to respect human rights.”
