(Washington, PA) A local man whose facebook account was ‘cloned’ is hearing from facebook friends he also knows in real life that the new account is proving far more popular.
Dale Ferrante’s facebook account became subject to a scam in which an account with the same name and profile picture is created which then sends friend requests to all his online acquaintances, most of whom are liking the new account much more.
“I’m not too crazy about the repeated attempts to coax my banking details from me, but other than that this new Dale is a vast improvement.”
Friends report that the original Dale was far less engaging, and tended to repost a lot of ‘dumb shit’.
“He also seems to look sexier on this new account, which is strange because it’s the same profile pic. Maybe it’s a filter thing.”
While the new account appeared to have suspiciously few friends at first, it has recently outstripped Dale’s friend count, as more and more of them accept the request and delete him.
“I’m almost at 5000 friends and can’t afford to be friends with the same person twice. Sorry original Dale.”
This website definitely has all of the information I wanted concerning this subject and didn’t know who to ask.
