Representative Mark Meadows of North Carolina excused himself for appearing distracted today, which he said was because he was daydreaming.

“Sometimes I drift off to a wonderful world in my imagination where I can really be myself.”

Asked what his daydream was about, Meadows said it concerned him being a politician in Virginia instead of North Carolina.

“It felt so right somehow, compared to my real life.”

Like many fantasies, Meadows said he was his younger self in part of the daydream, when he was still completing his education.

“We had this great dress-up party and then took photos which we made into a year book. Such good times, even if they were only in my head.”
