As if more proof wasn’t needed that nothing can convince Senator John McCain to withdraw his endorsement of Donald Trump, it came today in the form of Trump flicking McCain repeatedly in the face saying ‘Unendorse me – I Dare you’.

McCain steadfastly glared at Trump despite his cheek reddening with pain, showing the kind of restraint only learned by being a prisoner of war who was tortured for five years.

McCain has previously refused to withdraw his endorsement of the GOP nominee despite being accused by him of being a coward for getting captured in Vietnam, and despite Trump’s ever-bolder attacks on veterans and the families of the fallen.

To try to answer the complex psychological question of why Trump would engage in this type of provocative behavior when it appears McCain is still on his side, we consulted an eminent psychiatrist.
