McConnell Warns $1400 Stimulus Will Lead To Splurging On One Month’s Back Rent & Food For Favorite Child

Mitch McConnell today derided President Biden’s stimulus package that has cleared the Senate and is well on its way to becoming law. McConnell took particular exception to the $1400 stimulus check going to low income Americans.

“This will only encourage people to splurge on one month’s back rent and food and clothing for their favorite child.”

McConnell fears giving struggling Americans the whopping one-time payment could lead to dangerous expectations on the part of poor people.

“Once they get a taste for providing sustenance and protection from the elements for one child they’ll soon want to do the same for all their kids.”

He added that extending unemployment benefits is likewise a terrible idea that fails to provide the proper incentives for ordinary Americans.

“By not allowing them to feel the deep pain of long-term malnourishment in addition to facing eviction and not being able to pay their bills, they will not have the motivation they need to go back to work for $7.25 an hour.”
