Michael Cohen has backed up his decision not to testify due to threats to his family by producing the note that he received. Written in chickenscratch with woeful spelling, Cohen said that made it no less chilling to read.

“keep qhyit[sic] or yur[sic] famlee[sic] gets hurt”

Though the President has denied he authored the note and suggested it came from a Democrat trying to malign him, Cohen pointed out it that had many of the hallmarks you would expect from an anonymous letter composed by the President.

“Like its being written on official White House letterhead.”

The note starts out using individual letters cut from newspapers, though it appears the author abandoned that method, presumably due to it being too difficult and time-consuming.

“Perhaps the scissors were too large for his hands.”
