Millions Of Bernie Supporters Jump To Their Deaths Rather Than Back Hillary

(Portsmouth, NH) Progressive candidate Bernie Sanders has officially endorsed Hillary Clinton as the nominee in a joint appearance bringing the Democratic primary to a conclusion. There was much relief among party figures, at least until they heard how his followers were responding.

Having declared that they would ‘rather die’ than support Clinton, millions of Bernie supporters are holding mass rallies on the rooftops of tall buildings and next to cliff faces, and promptly hurling themselves off them. Though Hillary has grown used to being hated by Republicans, the knowledge that vast hordes of Democrats would rather snuff out their young lives than get behind her vision of incremental liberalism did sting.

Senator Sanders is doing his best to stop all of his passionate followers from committing mass suicide instead of focusing on defeating Trump in November, though he did make the point that such strong depth of feeling means he deserves major concessions and a prime slot at the convention. He would also like any campaign debt paid off, as he doesn’t own anything of value and doubts any bank is going to extend him credit anytime soon.

Meanwhile, establishment Republicans, many of whom said they would blow their brains out before supporting a ridiculous race-baiting candidate like Trump, continue to dutifully fall in line behind their presumptive nominee.

Why I Have Decided to Sell My Soul in November

Let me make one thing very clear: I intensely dislike Clinton. I hate her attacks on the women her husband victimized. I hate that she is in bed with big corporation money. I hate that she is always on the wrong side of an issue until that issue becomes popular. In short, Clinton is the last Democrat I would ever vote for.

So why will I vote for her?

    One word: History

In 1968 I was a Clean for Gene kid. Along with a whole lot of young people I campaigned for McCarthy in the democratic primary, knocking on doors, making phone calls, working my butt off. Then came the convention, and Humphrey was the nominee. He had not even RUN in the primary, for heaven’s sake! So, feeling totally betrayed by the system, we picked up our marbles and went home. Many who were old enough to vote, didn’t. And so, we got Richard Nixon.

Not too bad, if you discount all that messy Watergate business.

BUT – Nixon got to appoint 4 Supreme Court Justices. And those four became the foundation of a more conservative court that lasted for 15 years, then became even more conservative under Reagan and Bush.

And that stopped any progress in civil rights cold.

Then again in 2000 – those of us who couldn’t stand 4 more years of the same voted for Nader. And gave the election to Bush. Who gave us Roberts and Alito, and Citizens United.

So here we are again. The next president will certainly have 2, and as many as 4 appointments to the Court. We know who Trump would appoint. He released a list of names, in the same mode as Alito and Scalia.

What about Clinton? Well, let’s look at the 2 appointees by the last Clinton: Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer. Both staunch supporters of civil rights, of women’s reproductive rights, of gay rights, and staunch opponents of the Citizens United decision.

We are on the brink of either another Warren court or of the most conservative court we have seen in the last 100 years.

    It matters. A lot.

So I will vote for Clinton, and then work very hard for any good progressive candidate who is willing to primary her in 2020.

And I will do all I can to spare my grandson from having to grow up in an America shaped by a Trump Court.

  4. Hmm…. Not sure we truly get the full debate over here in the UK, but if you’re not backing Hillary, surely that means you’re backing Trump!
Let me tell you a true story. Once upon a time, there were a bunch of stupid ass British people, who didn’t bother watching the news or reading the papers. These stupid ass British people decided to vote to leave the EU, not because they understood what was really at stake, or actually believed the UK could survive alone (because it absolutely can’t!!). They did it as a protest towards a parliamentary leader they had been told they must hate. Now Britain is leaving the EU and all those stupid ass British people are shitting their pants!
Hillary ain’t perfect. Not even close, but Trump is the apocalypse given form! Be very careful how you use your vote. Once the gates of hell have been opened, there is no turning back! Britain is already on its way down. Half the country is clawing at the sides of the pit and the other half will realise their terrible mistake soon enough…..
    The End. Sleep well.

  5. The most disheartening thing in these comments is the condescending tone and outright disdain many Clinton supporters have for the young people that Sen Sanders’ campaign energized into getting involved.
These people have a passion the “voting-for-the-lesser-of-two-evils” crowd obviously lost a long time ago. They do not understand why they should support a candidate whose views and policies are so different from themselves. They can see that incremental change has meant the so-called party of liberals and progressives has continually veered to the right. Clinton’s voting record as a Senator and policies as Secretary of State has shown her to be a fervent hawk. Her ties to the corrupt banking industry and Wall Street re so tight that no so-called liberal or progressive should be able to stomach it.
So how do the more “experienced” voters treat these youngsters? With insults, with veiled threats, with false history (c’mon folks, that tired “it’s Nader’s fault Gore didn’t win in 2000” trope has been debunked to death, yet you can always count on the supporters of the status quo to trot it out whenever the status quo is threatened)
Know this, if Donald Trump becomes president, it in no way will be the fault of the #BernieorBust crowd or the #NeverHillary bunch. The blame will rest squarely on the DNC and Sec Clinton. The DNC for not supporting a candidate with more widespread appeal (Martin O’Malley would have been a better choice than Sec Clinton).
Mrs Clinton is to blame for her inability to appeal to folks, particularly the young voters that is her job. It is not the job of potential voters to vote for her just because she is not Donald Trump.
The Clinton trolls are easy to spot because that is the best they can do, Vote for Hillary because she is not Donald Trump.
As an older man, I say screw that BS

  6. Michael Hofmann | July 14, 2016 at 5:41 am | Reply

If Trump was a true threat then graduated voting could be applied with a stroke of a pen. People would vote for their favorite and if that favorite didn’t win then their votes would go to their second choice, and so on. No one’s vote would be wasted and no one would have to vote out of fear. The DNC wants to limit it to this, they feed on the fear.

    No Hillary.
    No way.
    No how.
If that means Trump, then so be it. Not everybody is afraid of Trump.

We voted against her for a reason. Several reasons, in fact. And not one reason has changed.

So I’ll be voting against her again in November.

  11. wow i thought all Bernie supporter knew that he was going supporter Hillary after we got all the young collage kids on board the sanders campaign Hillary need you now no free collage but she going get min wage $8.00 dollars but Bernie could not ever give free collage his job was to get you on board so you would not vote for Donald trump so please vote foe Hillary.you can trust her.

    Right on, Soundzilla.

  14. Bernie or busters: What an incredible array of privileged spoiled children you are. Only someone of great privilege could inflict Trump’s policies on the middle class and poor of this country as part of some political temper tantrum to teach people a lesson for not voting the way you want them to. Only someone who is NOT a progressive could allow the rounding up and mass deportation of millions of people based on their country of origin, or the denial of entry to America based on one’s religion, or the government registry of all people of one faith. You can claim you voted your conscience but don’t you dare call yourselves progressives. You are a left wing tea party doing irreparable harm to those you claim to care about. Why? All for your stupid little progressive purity test. Your’e not progressives, you’re dangerous anarchists who need to get a grip on how the American political process works.

  15. The sad part is that so many Bernie supporters have been duped into into believing outrageous lies and slick propaganda designed to manipulate them into hating Hillary. Their groups are filled with Republican trolls sites and Clickbait sites that post clever lies (65% of Sanders votes not counted in California) designed to drive a wedge between Bernie supporters and the Democratic party. Even when I go on these sites and prove that they are posting lies many still refuse to believe or bother to check for themselves.

Oh, Dear Miss Hillary: We are certainly not dieing= we are organizing all over this country for progressive candidates who actually understand where this country is and exactly what the two misfit candidates represent. Hillary just has no idea where she is in time or space – this is not the country of the 80’s and 90’s when she stopped actually knowing regular Americans. This one as funny as I’ve come to expect from BB. As a Bernie supporter switching to Jill Stein, I am not the one jumping off a cliff. The tools that play the DNC’s game and vote for the Shill as the “lesser of two evils” are the sad, beaten sacks in this story.

    • John Kneeland | June 16, 2016 at 10:59 am | Reply

You are a typical, well-informed supporter of Sanders, with a real knowledge of the issues as well as the candidates and their accomplishments. This is sarcasm.

  20. It is a sad sad day when so-called “adults” cannot have disciplined conversation & laugh at satire. I will always support Bernie or Jill Stein. No more “Lesser of 2 Evils”…It’s still evil. Pick your doom. Wake up & grow up people. Keep your disgusting American commentary to yourselves. Stereotyping ignorance with any candidate (except Trump, of course) is unacceptable. Lots of shills out trying to fuel the fire. Heads up.

  21. I second the motion. Fuck off. Don’t need our vote? Fine, can’t until you see the look on faces when Trump wins and we just have a beer & bowl. We gave the candidate of a lifetime and chose the criminal. Fuck you and your mom. Maybe it will take a President Trump to wake you the fuck up. Voting for Sanders I was voting against my interests. I’m a middle aged white male with grown children making six figures, but you stupid fucks went for the corporate whore and Wall St lackey. Fuck you, you made your bed now sleep with her and the bed bugs that cum with it. Don’t like my language? Fuck you. #NeverHillary #NeverClinton #FuckTraderWarren #StllSanders

  22. Too bad Hillary supporters won’t follow and jump also!!

  23. I am a Berner. And if Bernie gets the nomination, as unlikely as that seems at this point, I will not be begging or bullying HRC followers to vote for him. Bernie can win because of his character and ideals. The same should be true for Hillary or for Trump. To tell me that I am acting as a toddler throwing a tantrum because I refuse to vote for your candidate smacks of bullying desperation on your part. I wouldn’t worry though. In the end, barring some major disaster, HRC will win by courting the Republican vote. We all know that she is not the progressive she is pretending to be. The republican elite know that she has much more in common with them than she does with Bernie. And gosh knows they don’t have to feel guilty voting for a Dem with Trump as their candidate.

    • John Kneeland | June 16, 2016 at 11:12 am | Reply

Yes, she has much more in common with the Republicans. That is why they have spent 30 years attacking her. That’s why she has a 0 rating from the NRA and a 98% rating from the NAACP. That is why she was being an activist for women and children long before you were old enough to suck on a lollipop. You really, really need education. You simply know nothing.

  24. Lol, I thought the Satire was funny(if only) until I saw the hilarious ignorance that responded to it. Now I better understand the inconceivable stupidity that would follow a communist like a mule follows a carrot on a stick. Trump 2016, all the way to the White house. Feel the burn! lol

  25. If the supporters as so interested then let do what they want . These are threats to bargain . If willingly they want to die and not listen to their diehard leader to work with democrat nominee then comit suicide . The act is a crime. And for such act none but the indidual would be responsible only.

  26. She can’t win without us. She brags about how many supporters she has and when she says how many supporters Bernie has she conveniently forget to mention the millions of independent voters. Also she can’t count the votes she stole with manipulated machines, closed polling places, giving his supporters the ballots that aren’t counted, having his supporters dropped from the enrolled voters list or change their party so they can’t vote in primary….the list goes on, the only ones that believe your crap is the rest of the Clinton supporters who think it is fine to follow a warmongering, lying, bitch who would frack until you have no water to drink, drill until the oceans are all completely dead and so are anything along the route they take to get to their destination. A war criminal whose policies had 4 Americans killed and then she lied about it, if it weren’t for emails that were found she would have gotten away with playing the victim card. She used her time as SOS to sell weapons to enemies of the US for a donation to the clinton foundation which, by the way, is being investigated for money laundering and is being investigated as a criminal organization.

So I don’t know what the hell is wrong with you people for wanting to put a woman in the white house whose policies could very well cause someone you love be killed in one of the many wars she will start. She has already said she would start out by going after Iran.

She isn’t worth the air she breathes!

    • John Kneeland | June 16, 2016 at 11:07 am | Reply

This is real delusion. First off, the young who support Sanders for the most part do not vote. The older ones will support Clinton. You haven’t got a shred of evidence that the voting was rigged. Get over it. It’s not even worth bothering to debunk all your other false memes. I don’t have all day to point you to fact-checks. What is really scary is that quite of bit of your false information, such as regarding Benghazi, comes straight from the right. Here’s a response to one of your most ridiculous claims: The “enemies of the U.S.” to whom the Secretary of State’s JOB is to provide weaponry are all the Western European powers. You can’t keep making excuses for yourself and a candidate who lost. The real world is waiting.

  27. The best remedy for what we have and where we are in this election season is for Hillary Clinton to make Bernie Sanders her running mate. We still need Bernie in the White House. Impressing upon her the importance of making Bernie Sanders her VP will be way more progressive than condemnation. The Democrat’s camp is made up of his ideals and her ideals. With Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders working together as President and Vice President of the United States, the factions in our camp becomes united, powerfully effective, and unbeatable.

  28. We still need Bernie in the White House. If You Agree, Let it Be Known! Those of us who participated in the Democratic Primary, fill two different camps just about equally. Since the Democratic Party is mostly made up of two sides of functional approaches, and the job is for a President and Vice President, then it only makes sense that our two leading candidate fill both positions. Both of them working together would more reflect the Ideals of the Party’s voters. This is how we all win, especially our country.

  29. AH, Progressive Privilege on display! The people most in need of progress understand the compromise of incremental steps over the big battles of purists.

Wrong. I’m a “establishment Republican” willing to say, “I don’t vote for demagogues or criminals.” If both major parties want to engage in suicide pacts with candidates unworthy of anyone’s vote…..I’ll be voting third-party. My current leaning is for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson, who may only represent 30-50% of my political beliefs…..but has already demonstrated he can govern in a bi-partisan fashion. (ex-Gov. of NM). I’d invite Bernie supporters to give the Libertarians a look.

Don’t panic, people, we only know what the media tells us. Bernie will be at the convention and we have a chance to make him our candidate. If this campaign struggle has shown us all one thing, it is that ALL media, including the alternative kind, are suspect and corrupt. DON’T BELIEVE THEM!!!!

    • I agree. I am waiting for Bernie to show us his next move. Like most Progressives, I read a lot of posts from the Left, Right, and Center. I am a little dismayed to see some Progressives getting rather militant in the tenor of their posts and starting to tell people to do this or that. We don’t need to be fractionalized right now. We only got to this point BECAUSE of Bernie, not in spite of him. He is one hell of a leader and for anyone to second-guess right now, disturbs me. #Benie2016 #BernieOrBust #NeverHillary and, BTW, I love the cartoon…I don’t mind being spoofed about my resolve and admiration for Bernie Sanders. I won’t give up!

  34. I love how so many Hillary supporters are trying to blame Nader for Bush winning in 2000. I guess you didn’t do your homework…. There were several other candidates for President on the Florida ballot who each got tens of thousands of votes on both Liberal and Conservative sides, yet pinning it on Nader is a low blow. He was a good man working for the people, not a spoiler. If he hadn’t run, can you say how many of his supporters would have voted for Bush, how many for Gore, how many for any of the half dozen other candidates, or how many wouldn’t have voted at all? Maybe Hillary supporters need to kearn some History and statistical relevance.

  35. I am so tired of the conspiracy theories. Bernie supporters are looking for any excuse to justify why Hilary received Majority of the Peoples vote, Majority of the Delegate vote and have Majority of the committed Super Delegates. Bernie went in to the race knowing what the rules were and now calls foul because he is LOOSING and wants to change rules midstream. Oh and now that it is not working the way you all want it your going to stomp your feet and pout because you don’t want to play anymore. Grow up!

  40. I have read all of the comments above and I am distressed that so many of them validate the image of the Bernie lemmings in the cartoon. Thanks to the voices of reason pointing out the importance of the Supreme Court and the consequences of what Nader’s candidacy in giving us the Iraq war. Voters do not besmirch themselves by taking a pragmatic approach to the consequences of even the small amount of power they are exercising. As for you Greens, a new party would have to emerge from below, at the state or congressional seat level. Running a Green candidate for President is hopelessly ineffective and misguided.

  41. Raoul Mallalieu | June 10, 2016 at 11:28 pm | Reply

I will not vote for a lesser of two evils candidate. I am tired of the vote against what you fear tactic both parties use. I want to vote for what I believe in. If everyone would we would be happier with the outcome. If you all were independent enough to vote for what you want a Bernie or Jill Stein could win or Gary Johnson if that’s your preference. Many Trump supporters actually want what he’s preaching that’s their choice, (uninformed and narrow minded) but at least they have passion for their cause so be it. I don’t begrudge people having different opinions. We need three and would be better represented with five parties and if everone voted first second and third choice in order (points awarded 1st 3.5, 2nd 2.25, 3rd 1), would make for a more fair outcome where the majority would be somewhat satisfied and the minority only slightly dis-satisfied.

  42. Well children if Hillary wins and stacks the Supreme court with 2nd amendment hating liberals then maybe not during her presidency but at some point there will be another American revolution. Sure Bernie’s Brats are tough demonstrators and assault peaceful people but when it comes to surrendering our guns , well it isn’t going to happen ans you special snowflakes don’t have any way to take them. Mant police officers feel the same so they won’t come get them and if anybody tries to force us we will star shooting and keep shooting until we are secure in our liberty and safe in our domiciles. Silyt Bernie Brats don’t realize that their piss pot revolution is nothing compared to armed revolution

The Democratic Party has done something really bad. They played along with big money the way the Republicans have for years. Sure we knew it was going on but not to this level. There were issues in every single primary across the land. There was a blatant job by the media to ignore Bernie even as he pulled in crowds bigger than Trump or Clinton. And most importantly they did this with total disregard for the millions upon millions of people demanding change and getting the same old crap we have for 30+ years. I have supported the DNC steadfastly since Reagan’s second term but this year it is very likely I will vote for a third party and if they lose the election it’s their own d*mn fault. I will no longer vote for big money. I will no longer vote for multimillionaires. I will no longer vote for who the media crams down my throat. The Democrats deserve to lose this election and many more to come if this is how they plan on recognizing all the people screaming for change since Bush left office. Sorry no vote for Trump but I’ll be d*mned if I vote for Clinton after what the DNC did.

“Bernie or Bust” people are acting like “My way or the highway” kids…that’s a selfish immature behavior. Nothing in life works like that and selfish people always end up alone. Hillary probably not your ideal candidate but she will ensure that the white house stays in the democratic party hands which is much closer to your progressive ideas. Thanks to senator Sander and Elizabeth Warren our party is moving even more to the left. A no vote for hillary is a vote for that “stupid Trump” as you call him.

  48. This all feels eerily the same as the ’00 election cycle when people felt this way about Gore. He just wasn’t “exciting” enough and he was viewed as an establishment extension of Clinton, so a surprising amount of people spoiled for Nader or didnt show up, and we got W for 8 years.
These days Al Gore is an awesome dude who still would have made a much better president and roughly 4000 American soliders are dead due to the Iraq conflict that should have never happened.
    Worrisome.

  49. Fellow Bernie supporters… note that Bernie is NOT compromising his principles by doing whatever is necessary to make sure Trump doesn’t get in office… he’s a smart man, and experienced and patient enough to know that it IS consistent with principles, to prevent the REALITY of what a Trump presidency would mean! Small vs bigger picture! It would be SUICIDE to the arc of progressive ideals and set our country backward FAR WORSE than just holding status-quo with Hillary.
The idealism to cast your ACTUAL VOTE strictly for symbolic principle (ie: no actual chance of winning) is an idiotic luxury… we can’t afford another Gore/Nader split that made Bush win! Think how different things could have been if we’d had Gore instead of Bush !!!
Don’t repeat the same damn mistakes of recent history!
If you were a Bernie supporter, you must have respect for his decision making… .so follow his damn sage example!

    • Not really, Bernie let all of his supporters down. I have been researching the last few days, I knew it was going to come to this. You hate war and so you are voting for Hillary..Have you forgot about Benghazi? Maybe you should watch this documentary 13 Hours (you can find it on the internet. Research this but if we get Hillary as a president she will be rushing in communism. Do your research, I have that is why I am going to support Trump

  50. There’s comes a time when all us progressives must prove we are the intelligent pragmatists we claim to be. That time is between now and July. It is also important to note that while Bernie will not reach the presidency, his ideas and philosophy certainly will. He and his supporters have driven the Democrats left as I and many others wanted. But us old-timers also remember the lesson of 2000 when a petulant Ralph Nadar and his supporters handed the election to Bush/Cheney. We lost a President Gore who was fully prepared to take on climate change and replaced him with idiots who were obsessed with war and tax cuts. We should all imagine how much better we would have been had the liberals united back in 2000. Then we need to unite and support progressive ideas in 2016.

  51. Bernie or bust supporters are nothing but petulant fucking children. Grow the fuck up and see that letting Trump win is the absolute worst case scenario. Instead of being little whiney bitches you should be voting blue rather then throw your votes away voting for a third party candidate or simply not voting. Seriously, it’s just freaking embarrassing on your pet as grown adults to throw such a temper tantrum.

  52. It works like this: the Republican party exists to lie conservatives. The Democratic Party exists to lie to the Left. The only two guys outside of that in this campaign are Bernie and Trump. Hate me if you want, but I’m going to vote for Trump and hope he fucks them all!

    • You’re a freaking moron. And a racist too apparently.

    • You know Trump will sell out to the highest bidder, he is in it yo win it for Trump, he has lost a lot of money in his many business ventures gone sour and he is accustomed to s very lavish lifestyle and he knows the presidency will guaranty him that lifestyle so I hope you haven’t been fooled by his phony lines of making America great again when in reality it will be making Trump great again

    • I am right with you. Tired of the establishment and I am not ready for a communist country and that is truly what Hillary has to offer.

  53. I am completely baffled as to how Sanders was planning to implement his ideological agenda with a GOP controlled House and Senate. If Obama’s eight years in office has taught us anything, it is how the GOP Party is willing to sacrifice this nation on the altar of greed and venality for their political/financial aims. Do you honestly believe that Sanders and his socialist program will fare any better?

It is not a matter or right or wrong. This is a matter of survival. We need to choose wisely between Hilary or Trump because the Supreme Court is at stake. This is a decision you need to make and with your decision you will either carry this country forward or backwards. I pledge my vote to Hillary because our Supreme Court decisions are way too important to ignore.
There is no time for mistakes. Forwards or backwards. You make the choice.

    • You vote for Hillary it really won’t matter who is on the bench because she will rush this country into communism and that is a fact. Hillary is a neonazi

  55. Does the name Ralph Nader come to mind? Do you really think the Gore administration would have been nearly as terrible for our country and for human rights as the Bush era?

I liked Bernie, but not voting for Hillary will just be another vote (or a non-counter vote) for possibly the most dangerous presidential candidate since Goldwater.

Hillary may be a great president, she may be a terrible president, but as Bill Mahr said “Trump may be our last president”.

    • Nader didn’t lose that election for Gore, Republican voter suppression and outright illegality by Republicans did

      • There were multiple reasons why Bush beat Gore. But Nader was definitely one; if Nader hadn’t run, Gore clearly would have won.

You guys can always vote Green or Libertarian. Personally I like Johnson, he moving up on the polls, social liberal, fiscally responsible. The Green party (Jill stein) doesn’t have as much support but greens are better then hillary or trump. Don’t choose not to vote because that doesn’t help change anything and that to me is the only way you can waste a vote. Worse case you can write in Bernie.

    • Interesting news item yesterday in The Guardian… When asked what they’ll do if Bernie isn’t on the ballot, MORE Bernie supporters said they’d defect to Libertarian Johnson (15%) than to Green Stein (11%). Many more (41%) said they’ll vote Clinton, though I know nobody posting here will be among them.

  57. The only hope we have of bringing any of Bernie’s platform to fruition is to hold onto the White House. Never in my lifetime has a democrat followed another democrat into that job. It’s about damn time. The alternative is to watch all of Obama’s work be undone – and waste the next 4 years building walls and hating on each other. I don’t know about any of you, but I don’t have 4 years to waste and I’ve had enough of hate.

Does anyone get it? Bernie Sanders is a communist? Killary is worthless! Trump is a self-made man that knows how to make deals and create jobs. I know Bernie never held a 9 – 5 job..so I suppose that isn’t important to people that just hear free stuff that will break our backs more if we DON’T STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION..as commie libs give them ALL of OUR money WE EARNED! Climate change is a farce. Nothing to back it up..the polar caps are growing folks..Bernie has NEVER accomplished ONE THING in the Senate! NOT ONE THING..so, as far as I am concerned, he is collecting our money like welfare…of course, he was on it most of his young life. You people make no sense! NONE! Sorry, these are the facts.

The key word is “reactionary.” That is why they seem to resemble each other so much, I think. They have different priorities and views, but their methodology is the same.

They both seem to believe that if you don’t get everything you want immediately, the best solution is not working in increments, but rather blowing up the whole system. The theory that this will engender the change they seek is obviously dubious, given that 2 groups with opposing views and priorities both believe that their vision will be the one to emerge from the rubble…

  74. horse poop, Will write in Bernie if it comes to that…end of story

  75. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!

Since Bernie Sanders won’t be the democratic nominee, short of an indictment, we Bernie supporters should consider doing the following:

    1. Take the Bernie or bust pledge by clicking on the link below. Basically, the pledge states if Bernie’s not the nominee, you agree to either write in Bernie’s name on the general election ballot or vote for Dr. Jill Stein, of the Green Party. It’s highly recommended you vote for Dr. Jill Stein as write votes will NOT be counted.

    https://citizensagainstplutocracy.wordpress.com

    2. The day after the July democratic convention, all Bernie or bust supporters should register as Green Party. The Green Party agenda is identical to Bernie’s. If the Green Party can get to at least 15% in the polls, Dr. Jill Stein would be invited on the national stage to debate with the republican nominee, Donald Trump and democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton. This would be great not only for the Green Party, but more importantly, the entire country, as the electorate would be able to hear the Green Party’s ideas for the country.

Below is the link to the Green Party website which will provide you with information on their agenda and platform.

    http://www.gp.org

Since the Green Party, like Bernie Sanders, accepts no money from special interests, such as Wall Street, big oil, health insurance companies, etc., the Green Party would only need to receive at least 5% of the general election votes in order to be eligible for public funding of tens of millions of dollars to finance their future down ballot candidates and if necessary, future presidential candidates.

Please consider voting green to make your voice heard and your vote count! Please share this far and wide. If every single Bernie Sanders supporter voted for the Green Party in the general election, and turned their back on the corrupt two party system, in January 2017 we may have the first unbought woman president, Dr. Jill Stein.

    Thank you.

    • Maybe we should not give up on him being named the Democratic candidate.
      There is still this option:

If you are able to get the superdelegates to support and nominate the candidate who got less voted in the primary, what will be your response to Hillary voters who feel like you disenfranchised their votes?

What will be your answer to the ~90% of African American Democrats who feel like, once again, a bunch of white people totally negated their votes?

Those questions will definitely need to be addressed if this happens…

  76. I will not vote for corrupt system politics as usual. The democratic party has spent too much time in bed with wall street and the republicans. They need to embrace social democracy and stop ignoring their liberal core or risk fracturing the party. Concessions need to be made, change needs to come.

  81. We just saw the worst voter suppression tactics yet by the Clintons and their stooges and it unfairly changed the California vote in her favor! In addition to voter fraud, purges and suppression, announcing a win before California and other states even vote is underhanded and deceitful, especially since super delegates cannot vote until the convention! We will now never know if Bernie would have won California in a fair election! Some Hillary supporters claim we are ‘abandoning the party’ but I say the party is abandoning us! I have been a Democrat for over fifty years but after what I have seen of the party establishment’s tricks and the underhanded way they stole the ‘nomination’ the word ‘democratic’ does not fit anymore with this organization! If Bernie is not the nominee I hereby give notice that, after over fifty years, I will be resigning from the Democrat party! I cannot continue to support an organization that treats corruption, fraud and voter suppression as normal operating procedure!

  82. That is funny. What I heard was #Bernie2016 very carefully vowing to do everything within his power to make sure that Trump did not make it to the White House. There are multiple ways of doing that, and, as #Bernie4POTUS has pointed out many, many, many times, #WhichHillary is NOT our best bet to beat Trump. Bernie beats Trump roundly, while Hillary does not– this fact obligates Bernie to run against Trump as an Independent or on the Green Party ticket. #SandersStein2016 #NeverHillary

  84. Hillary Clinton is nowhere near Bernie in ideology or plan. What she says now is just lip service until she’s in the Oval Office, then her true agenda will emerge, and it has nothing to do with the middle class or rebuilding what her slut-puppy husband destroyed a couple of decades ago. She will instantly approve and pass the TPP, because that’s what Clintons do, they love those disastrous “trade” deals that have nothing to do with trade and everything to do with lining their own pockets. • Right! You know that we have to focus on defending the right of men being allowed into women’s restrooms and totally strip the Constitution of any reference to the right to bear arms.

Totally makes sense! Keep it up!

  86. Not voting for Hillary is the equivalent of casting a vote for Chump. If my candidate doesn’t win, i am taking my ball and going home, smdh. Anyone, but Chump!

    • Good point. I might as well just get real and vote for Trump. That will take one vote away from Hillary and give one to Trump. Before, I was just not going to vote for Hillary. But I can do more to help sink her candidacy this way. It’s like 2 votes instead of just one. Thanks for helping me work through that dilemma.

    • Giving up your ideals for what is perceived as the lesser of two evils is asinine. They’re both evil, Trump just doesn’t bother to hide it. She is a walking talking lie. I will vote for neither Drumpf nor Killary. Bernie supporters don’t owe the Dems a damned thing.

  89. Write in Sanders’ name in November, or urge him to run as an independent.

  90. Lisa Richardson | June 9, 2016 at 7:09 pm | Reply

No, you can definitely vote any way that you want. It just may mean nothing to anyone but you. If you want an effective vote, vote for the person who is the closest in ideas to the person you would rather choose, and then work to move those ideas forward. It’s called being smart and tactical, instead of ideological and pointless. In the historical blip of this election, the only people that will be remembered are Trump, Clinton and Sanders. Why not work with Sanders to influence Clinton?

    • Where has voting “smart and tactical” gotten us? We have been trained to vote for the lesser of two evils in order to prevent the things that we don’t want. And what have we gotten as we’ve marched steadily to the right? Everything we don’t want. A climate in crisis, overwhelming student and medical debt, low wages for the majority of Americans, interventionist wars, a for-profit prison system, Citizens United, a crumbling infrastructure, etc. Our country is falling apart because we keep voting for evil. It is time for a people’s party. The Democratic and Republican Parties are owned by the same corporate interests – and as long as we keep voting for their puppets, America is doomed.

  91. Now, how do we get Trump and Hillary supporters to jump to their death?

    • OK…But You Jump First! If you Berniebots are that full of Hate, then maybe it’s better if you Do Jump!! (of course, I’m not serious!) But I am VERY disappointed and disillusioned by Millennials and the Anger, Rage and Hate that the majority of you show… Pathetic!

Simply pull the Clintonian Horde from Philadelphia, and the Trumpelstiltskin-ites from Cleveland, and have them re-enact this “minor battle” using period-appropriate weapons (rifled muskets, bayonets, ball-and-powder pistols, and CW-era cannons). It’ll all be over in a few weeks, and then us “sane” folk can get back to the business of solving America’s problems without having to deal with the MSM’s version of a 1980’s-era daytime soap opera….

    • You don’t. Trump is not a sell out to his supporters. Trump has never been a communist the way Bernie was and then he became a socialist and that worked out real well huh just take a look at Venezuela. How many of you know where Bernie comes from? He lived in the basement of his mothers house, collecting welfare until he was forty. Now, he made money by turning his backs on Bernie supporters. Well, I am joining the Trump train, I have researched and researched and that man loves this country and he loves his supporters. He does not like the TPP, he wants a strong economy, he wants to bring jobs back to the USA. Bless his heart for wanting to put Americans first and he wants to keep us safe. Have we forgotten about 9/11 already? I would love it if other Bernie supporters would join me in supporting Trump but that is your choice

      • You watch too much MSM and can’t think for yourself. You know nothing about Bernie.

        • And he knows all teh lies about Trump as “truth”. If Trump actually cared about bringing jobs back to the US, his campaign material would be made here instead of China and Mexico.

  92. Nope not me not voting for either one. But if Bernie’s is out I will vote Jill stein but the notion that we are brainwashed to believe that we only get two choices and you don’t like either one but too bad so you have to choose? • Right on Lora! It is mind blowing for me to think that the most powerful country in the world would continue to limit themselves to just 2 options when it comes to choosing who gets to represent them and make decisions for all things?

The political system is ridiculously dated and most people seem to be blindly going along. We need to start working on exploring options to put the most qualified, unbiased and all inclusive people in office.

      Exactly!!!

      • Get a clue. There aren’t just two. The Repubs had 16 candidates and the Dems had 3.

        • The Democrats had 5. Lincoln Chafee, Jim Webb, Martin O’Malley, Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton.

The 2 they are talking about is the two major parties.

I love HRC, but I swear some of my fellow fans don’t read.

        • In terms of being on the November ballot, it’s just ONE Republican, ONE Democrat, ONE Libertarian, and for 23 states at the moment, ONE Green Party member.

  93. Bernie or bust… And if bust – I will vote Green for Jill Stein!

    • You may as well vote for Hillary if you choose anyone other than Trump. Ridiculous.

      • Why? It’s a free country, we should be given the right to vote for whoever the hell we want to. If I don’t like Clinton or Trump, I shouldn’t be expected or pressured to vote for them.

As one last middle finger to Clinton, we Sanders supporters have the power to prevent both major parties from reaching 270. Let’s roll the dice on the House here.

        • “we Sanders supporters have the power to prevent both major parties from reaching 270. Let’s roll the dice on the House here.”

That’s extremely unlikely, as it would require getting more votes than either Trump or Hillary in some states. If that happened anywhere, it would be in the most liberal states so it would hurt Hillary exclusively. Much more likely is that, in many states, Bernie would get enough votes from people who would otherwise vote Democratic to give the state, and the election, to Trump.

As for “rolling the dice on the House”… you do know this wouldn’t be like any other House vote, right? Each state (regardless of population) would get one vote. The Republicans would overwhelmingly control the vote, and even though they don’t love Trump, they would surely choose him as president, as evidenced by how they are already falling into line behind him.

It is not perfect but we all voted, the votes were counted and Trump and Hillary both gained enough votes to be considered the presumptive nominees. The best most peaceful way to change the world is to work within the system and change it. Revolutions tend to be bloody and bring out the worst in people eg refer to first profane comment below this article.9

        • “The best most peaceful way to change the world is to work within the system and change it.”

no meaningful change has ever been effected from “within the system”, this is ahistorical nonsense

“no meaningful change has ever been effected from “within the system”, this is ahistorical nonsense”

What about the Constitution? Effected AFTER the Articles of Confederation was failing.

            The Emancipation Proclamation?

Women’s Suffrage? Ending the draft? Civil rights act? LGBT marriage?

The Magna Carta, for goodness’ sake?

One could argue, easily, the view that very little meaningful change has ever been effected by revolutions, until after they calmed down, established the rule of law, and got to work within that system.

Ask yourself: What proceeded the American Revolution, and what proceeded the French Revolution, and what was the difference in contexts?? (In other words, why did the USA follow one, while Napoleon followed the other??)

          • Vicki Bliss | July 14, 2016 at 12:26 pm |

I would only raise the question (rather than “argue”) that there is a level of sophistication to the way we operate today, that is difficult for the average person to understand, let alone fight. Money and power control too much and so much is hidden from view, convoluted into labyrinths nearly impossible for anyone to find the way out. Comey, Clinton, the Establishment, the Banks, the billionnaires…they function in secrecy and at such high levels of power that I will be amazed…simply amazed…if we can ever throw them to the curb. We…I (I’ll speak for myself) want Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein as President to begin to dismantle what I perceive to be a toxic system of Establishment politics where the two parties trade place every so often and which, over the last several decades, have left the general population struggling and the planet in a disaster of wars and exploitation. I don’t like trickle-down economics or trickle-down politics of throwing crumbs to the masses while the 1% enrich themselves beyond belief. “Throw the bums out”!…as my father would have said. (I am 73). Bernie or Jill, never Hill. We need a clean sweep of the current system.

      • Thank you, Senator Warren.

    • Your ‘concious’? Forgive me if I laugh myself to tears.

      It’s a conscience. CONSCIENCE.

Concious means you’re awake and you know what’s going on. Conscience is the voice in your head.

This is middle school vocabulary. Forgive me if someone who can’t tell the difference is someone whose political choices I don’t take seriously.

      • Excuse me but it’s not concious it’s Conscious….so apparently you flunked Middle school vocabulary too! Don’t any of you idiots who think their opinion matters EVER use spell checker?

      • Conscious. Not concious. Whose vocabulary should you be correcting, my dear?

    • I have two words for you: Supreme Court.

    • john kneeland2016 | June 11, 2016 at 2:08 pm | Reply

Well, you shouldn’t vote. Because completely uninformed voters are not a good thing. And you obviously know nothing about Clinton’s record as a legislator.

  95. Fuck off… We’re voting Green if Bernie endorses Hillary

    • Stay classy….just like I knew you would.

It’s ok. We don’t need your votes and you’ll be helping to elect her if you choose anyone other than Trump. /former Dem who doesn’t need to personally insult or use foul language.

      • You just convinced me to vote for Trump. I can’t fucking WAIT for him to win now, just for the look your faces.

        • You’re the real life version of the people this story is satirizing. Yeah, vote for Trump to see the look on someone’s face. This, folks, is someone who doesn’t even deserve a vote.

        • Wrong you do need us. Independents make up 41% of registered voters, 30% Democrat and 20% Republican. Guess which percentage won’t be voting for Hillary. Not to mention 14% of Democratic voters said they won’t vote for her either.

      • wow, you don’t need to use “foul language”? give yourself a fucking cookie.

      • so right on desgardi

      • destardi? more like retardi, amirite! | July 11, 2016 at 7:04 am | Reply

You need all the votes you can get. And it still won’t be enough.

Yeah, because Trumpsters never resort to personal insults or foul language…

      • Are you daft? The Republican party is united behind Trump while Hillary has a worse approval rating than Obama and is nearly neck and neck with Trump on the most hated candidate in the race. You don’t need Bernie supporter votes? LMAO!! And yet you brain-dead nitwits wanted to sit here saying there was math behind why Hillary would win the race to the Whitehouse?

Okay, well since Hillbots love math, let’s do some.

45% of Americans identify as Independent.
The majority of those back Bernie.
        25% of Americans are Democrats.
A nice portion of them support Bernie as well. Roughly 10%, give or take.
90% of Bernie supporters are Bernie or Bust. Meaning they will vote for NO ONE ELSE except for Bernie.

The states that Hillary has won, the really large states like New York and California? They’re under investigation for voter suppression and fraud. Every open primary state, Hillary lost by double digits.

So tell me, assuming your mentality has a foundation in reality, how in the bloody hell do you actually expect Hillary to win in an open election when the Democratic party is an absolute mess? You can win without our support? PFFFFFT! Good luck with that, chump!

Tell me how it feels to support a woman who attacked a 12-year-old rape victim’s character to get her pedophile rapist a lighter sentence during her lawyer years, then laughed it off years later in an interview? Because I’d really love to know… I’m curious if Hillbots actually educate themselves on the actual putrid bullshit Hillary has done and said throughout her career and her life, or if they just plug their ears and sing “la la la, first female president!”

        • Yep yep yep!

“I’m curious if Hillbots actually educate themselves on the actual putrid bullshit Hillary has done and said throughout her career and her life,”

OK, can you please educate me?? Tell me, seriously. I want to hear what she has said and done to make you hate her so much. I have tried to google and research, but I only get commentary, not source material…

      • Keep telling yourself that you don’t need the votes….let me know how that works out for you in November, lol

If Bernie abandons his principles, we will not. #MakeMineStein2016

      • My sentiments exactly. I will not throw my vote at someone so disdainful our support and opinions.

      • So tell me, how does it feel to realize Bernie was actually just a shill who would say anything to get elected and is now folding like a house of cards?

You get what you pay $27 for!

        • Surprise, surprise! Once again, someone was in too much of a hurry. Walking out of the white house, he made that short statement. Afterwards at his rally, he said we’re still in it to win it! I admit, it picked up my spirit and my heart skipped a beat. WE ARE IN IT TO WIN IT! Now voters whose vote was not even counted are a little perplexed. This isn’t what democracy looks like. Voter suppression and voter fraud is being legally challenged. Bernie supporters are more frustrated than ever after this latest move, and will not be shushed. If people thought we would quietly fall in line like the republicans have behind Trump, it appears they are very wrong. So laugh it up HIllary supporters. Bernie is our only hope for a Trump free presidency.

          • “WE ARE IN IT TO WIN IT”

Using the old Palin campaign slogan, I see?
You Conservatives in sheep’s clothing really can’t hide your true feelings, can you?

One nonsense lawsuit in San Francisco is not challenging voter fraud. See you in the real world – if you ever get there.

        • it’s not true sorry to break it to you this way #BernieOrBust

        • not sure you know what “shill” means

Take your money and shove it. Can’t you tell this article is sarcasm?

          #ForeverSanders #NeverHillary

        • What a dumb ass thing to say. Did Hillary pay you for that shit? She paid too much.

        • When did trying and losing become betrayal to you?

      • Well said. And me too! I’ll NEVER vote her or any other dnc choice again, ever! Ill never vote Trump! Hillary or Trump, meh both different flavors of bad. Trump is an idiot and will get manipulated just like we all know Hillary already consents to being a puppet. The parties and the media can fu…. do themselves. My principals are much more important to me than chosing which flavor of bad to swallow. I might vote Green/Stein just to get that party on all ballots next time.

But lets give Bernie a chance here. One, he needs a job just like we all do. Two, he hasnt done nor said anything against his belifs yet. He hasnt even asked we endorse her.

        • john kneeland2016 | June 11, 2016 at 2:05 pm | Reply

No, let’s not give Sanders a chance here. He calls himself an independent, yet parachuted himself into the Democratic primary, then decided he didn’t like the rules. By the way, it looks like your “principles” don’t include fact-checking candidates’ promises and plans. And learn to spell that word before you use it.

    • Batshit Bernie | June 10, 2016 at 9:27 am | Reply

Ha ha ha love the response. Do you realize how lame you are.
Where did you learn to speak Saxon by the way?

    • Remember the last time people did that, Walid, you mouth-breathing, booger-eating twatwaffle? We got EIGHT YEARS of George (putting the W into AWOL) Bush. Thanks to idiots just like YOU!

    • …and the article is now that much funnier.

    • …see, you’re just cutting off your nose to spite your face…if you can risk losing what you’ll gain by voting for Hillary then go ahead but if you were serious with your support of Bernie (as I was) then you won’t just stomp your feet, pout, take your toys and go home. Bernie’s not going to let Hillary get away with not supporting our issues…I am hoping Elizabeth Warren if VP because she and Bernie absolutely are like minded. You were either serious about change or you weren’t…peace and please think about all of this very seriously…a vote for the Green party is not doing any good, unfortunately, and could do a lot of harm…you are effectively voting for T-Rump if you choose to do that…I bid you peace

      • What we gain by voting Hillary? You mean a continuation of the same old crony capitalism? Another 4 or 8 years of great news for Wall Street while the Middle Class and poor get screwed?
They may put token language for a few of Bernie’s positions in the platform, but that platform is not binding, and we already know Wall Street Shillary will dump it the day after the inauguration, IF she is elected.

      • Do they issue you Hilltrolls all the same script? Trying to make people with values and principals into the bad guys is a lovely skill….if you are a professional asshole. Oh yeah and Peace to you too.

Voting for Trump is not the worse thing that could happen… Hillary Clinton will start a few wars while president and 1,000’s of kids will be killed in her useless wars..That would be the worse thing that could happen.. The only way the democratic party will ever change and start working for we the people is if the democratic party loses this year to someone else.. Think about it.. If Hillary loses the democratic party will see the light and start working for the people and stop working for the big money money people.. If the democratic party wins then they will keep doing what they have been doing.. Also we all know the election was rigged and if we Bernie supporters vote for Hillary and help her win then that will be rewarding Hillary and DWS for rigging the election.. That will be the same as telling them that what they did was the right thing to do.. Do we Bernie supporters really want to reward Hillary and DWS for doing that.. Yes Bernie got some things in the platform but we all know Hillary Clinton will never do anything she says.. She will go back to the old Hillary and start doing every thing she can to help her banker friends.. She only says what she says at the time just to get votes.. Hillary only care about her money and power.. She has proven that to us all.. Hillary supports are just in denial of it..I will be voting for anyone that can keep Hillary out of the white house so she will not be able to get 1,000’s and 1,000’s of our kids killed in her wars..Those kids lives mean a lot more than any than any DUMB ASS Trump in the white house…Just think, in 4 years we will have a democratic party that works for us then.. It may be worth it..

Please, explain to me how you know that HRC is going to start wars, and why you think she is such a friend to the banks? What has she actually said and done to make you believe this so strongly?

I am not questioning your views, I am genuinely wanting to know…I have tried researching this online, but all I get is the commentaries – I cannot find source materials. I cannot find the reasons why people think these things, I can only find that people do indeed think these things. Can you please help me find the facts that prompted these views??

    • Yep…Green, baby, green…if Bernie is not on the ballot…Down with the 2-party system!

    • sad to hear that … you will be voting for Mr. Trump then I suppose. Good luck with that … just ask Mr. Nader.

    • I’m a Bernie delegate, and I agree. #SteinIsFine
