(Pittsburgh, PA) A new startup in Bakery Square is set the become the standard in internet security and online verification of user identity.
Called VerifYou, the company – founded by a pair of former CMU students – takes two-factor authentication to the next level beyond sending confirmation codes to your mobile or email.
“You provide us with a load of personal information about yourself. Then, when you try to logon to your email or shop online, we dispatch a team of trained investigators to make sure it’s really you.”
There will be a short delay compared to current two-factor authentications methods, though the benefit is added security.
“Probably about 15 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic, assuming you’re in the East End. If you’re in the South Hills, three hours to a day.”
Once the team arrives, you then need to allow another ten to twenty minutes while they aggresively question you to determine if you are who you claim to be. The startup behind the new technology dismissed suggestions that it would prove too annoying for users.
“Everyone already hates CAPTCHA and two-factor authentication so much that we don’t foresee a problem.”
