As TV and film productions depart the State of Georgia, some good news for the local film community arrived today – that the fourth season of Hulu hit The Handmaid’s Tale will be filmed in the state.
“Season three, filmed in Toronto, is already in the can, but we can confirm season four will be filmed in Georgia.”
Producers of the show admitted they will take some flak for moving the production there but said the incentives on offer simply couldn’t be turned down.
“In addition to some generous tax breaks, filming in the Peach State means we also save on writing a script or hiring actors. You simply turn up with a camera and shoot away!”
Though critics have said the third season now airing now has taken an even more oppressive turn, showrunners say that nothing compared to what’s coming next.
“The episodes to be filmed in Georgia will be some of the darkest ever to grace the screen.”
