The City of London is celebrating one of its own after a fatberg extracted from one of its oldest sewers won gold in the singles luge event at the 2018 Olympics in Korea.
UK Olympic officials were delighted at the result.
“Obviously we’re not known for luge, so we didn’t have much hope for Fatberg even though he’s our best athlete by a large margin.”
Commentators say Fatberg won through a combination of being the ideal weight and having the right balance of overall rigidity and flexibility in the turns.
“And the fact that it’s self lubricating.”
