Snap Inc. – parent company of popular app Snapchat – had a tremendous opening on the public stock market, posting records gains for investors of over 40%.

However the mood turned dark as reports abounded of wild profits abruptly disappearing altogether by the closing bell.

Investors had no explanation for why this could be, and unfortunately it appears once the profits are gone there is no way to recover them.

Those who still have profits are advised to convert them into some other form within 24 hours to ensure they don’t suffer the same fate.
