Pentagon Apologizes For Bombing Oman Instead Of Yemen By Mistake For Years

(Pentagon City, VA) The Pentagon today officially apologized for relentlessly bombing the Arab Sultanate of Oman for many years when it was never intended to be a target. The colossal mistake emerged when a mid-ranking officer questioned why we have been bombing Oman instead of Yemen.

“Well they do sound the same. Ooops!”

On learning of the error, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. wondered why Oman hadn’t objected to being bombed for no reason – until someone pointed out the first thing the Air Force does is wipe out all communications capabilities.

“After that I guess they were just too scared to say anything.”

The mistake is considered the biggest since US marines invaded ally Australia instead of the Austro-Hungarian empire when the United States entered World War One in 1917.
