Following his win at Super Bowl 50, Peyton Manning is set to announce his retirement from his sideline job as an NFL quarterback so he can concentrate full-time on his true passion – featuring in high-quality amusing advertisements that play up his goofy affability.
“I feel I have so much more to give to the world of advertising, and the football was really getting in the way.”
While his fans might see this as a great shame, he wants to assure them that he is not at all upset about putting his legendary football career behind him.
“It was only ever a hobby for me, really.”
He has already signed with the LA-based William Morris Agency, and is open to film work too, though that would be more about paying the bills.
“I’ve always felt like I’m an artist, and short-form TV commercials are my canvas.”
