Pokémon ‘Weavile’ Stopped 51 Times By Police Before Being Captured By Trainer

The Pokémon Go phenomena sweeping the nation turn a darker today as it came to light that Weavile has been subjected to repeated stops by law enforcement. Though reasons were given in each case it is suspected that something more sinister is at play. A Pokémon hunter was outraged at what he saw.

“Weavile was just minding his own business when the cops started giving him a hard time. Meanwhile Pikachu and Gallade were causing all kinds of havoc without being given a second glance.”

Fortunately the entire incident was captured on numerous cell phones by impatient hunters. The latest official explanation being offered is that Weavile looked like another Pokémon that had outstanding warrants, though constitutional law expects say there is ample reason to believe the stop was illegal.

“Weavile appears to be the victim of the seductive but incorrect notion that individual behavior can be inferred from crude grouping based on shared superficial characteristics.”

When asked for comment, publisher Nintendo/Niantic said that despite the game being officially available worldwide they’ve only heard reports of this type of harassment taking place in the Unites States.

“It’s not really our place to comment, except to say be careful out there.”
