Mitt Romney had any hopes that President Trump had forgiven him for his previous outspokenness dashed today when Trump made clear how much he still had it in for the U.S. Senate hopeful from Utah.

“I heartily endorse Mitt who I think will make a great Senator.”

Romney said it was absolutely the worst thing Trump could have said of him.

“He must really really hate me.”

Faced with a potential massive defeat at the polls, Romney can only hope that the President will ease up and treat him more kindly.

“All I want for is for Donald to be my friend by coming up with a derogatory nickname for me. Rancid Romney, for example.”

Romney also expressed a wish that Trump cut him a break by attacking him mercilessly on twitter.

“Is that really so much to ask?”
