Samsung Electronics has posted record earnings in a vindication of their strategy not to have their phones explode.
Part of the credit goes to the new Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones, which consumers seem to like even though they lack the rapid-energy-release feature and heat generation capabilities of their predecessor the Galaxy 7 Note.
With the release of the Galaxy 7 Note, Samsung had placed a bet on consumers wanting their phones to explode, however it backfired in more ways than one.
At that point Samsung were in a quandary – do they stick with exploding phones on the assumption that consumers would come to love them in time, or go back to regular phones?
Today their decision to opt for the latter was vindicated.
