Days after Nancy Pelosi expressed her disdain for President Trump’s State of the Union address by tearing up a copy of it in front of the nation, Vice President Mike Pence is still distraught over his ability to make things right.

“I can’t find all the little pieces.”

Pence has made it his mission to put the speech back together to preserve his President’s ‘beautiful words of truth’ and has been poring over the carpet in the Capitol Building to find the remaining scraps of it he is missing, according to janitorial staff.

“He demanded to see the vacuum cleaner bags. He was quite aggressive for a man of God.”

Informed of his Vice President’s latest gesture of absolute loyalty, President Trump laughed saying he has plenty of copies.

“They’re just trees. Who cares?”
