Trump To Congress: If It Was Up To Me I Would Never Have Fired Comey!

President Trump defended himself today in the face of damning testimony by fired FBI Director James Comey that suggested Trump had acted inappropriately by letting him go.

Trump contends it’s not his fault as he was not free to act as he wanted.

“I was between a rock and a hard place, which I won’t name except to say it’s Russia.”

While Trump accepts the principle that an unencumbered chief executive should be held responsible for his or her actions, he says that doesn’t apply here as he is beholden to a higher authority.

“I answer to a higher power called God. Only kidding – it’s Putin.”

He concluded by saying they should leave him alone as all the things they wanted to know about were above his paygrade.

“Gimme a break – I’m just the puppet!”

As much as I think Trump is a disaster, it is in the country’s best, long term, interest that he NOT be impeached. Make the GOP own this disaster in the 2018 midterm elections.
