White House doctor Ronny L. Jackson MD has confirmed that in addition to a physical exam, he performed a mental assessment of the President last Friday, which he says Trump passed with flying colors.

“I asked him to name the current President of the United States, which, as anyone who watches TV knows, is the standard test for assessing cognitive performance.”

Some critics speculated that Trump might merely have guessed that he is the current President, but Dr. Jackson dismisses that as unlikely.

“For him to have forgotten and simply guessed the correct answer is extremely improbable as he doesn’t really do anything to give it away. The constant golfing alone would have tripped him up.”

However, just to be sure, Dr. Jackson said he asked a difficult follow-up question by challenging Trump to name the song that was a huge international hit for Sir Elton John in 1972.

“He shouted out the answer straight away, which is even more impressive when you considered he was engaging in complex negotiations with North Korea at the time.”
