In an interview with Fox News, President Trump says he is considering doing away with conventional White House press briefings and simply conducting one himself every two weeks. This, he maintains, is because too much misinformation is getting out.
“The wrong lies are being told, which helps no-one.”
Trump defended his former spokesman Sean Spicer, but said he was constantly ‘getting beat up’ and perhaps the normal way of doing things is not suited to Trump’s fast moving Presidency. He also had kind words for Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Stephen Miller.
“These people are only trying to do their best relaying my lies. And sometimes they get those lies wrong. They may not be telling the most up-to-date lies.”
As someone who thrives being in the spotlight, Trump says it’s a natural fit for him to perform the role himself.
“With me conducting my own briefings every two weeks, the public can be confident they are hearing the precise lies I want to tell them.”
