After taking pains to point out how important the battles in the skies during the Revolutionary War were during his July 4th speech at the Lincoln Memorial, President Trump today corrected some glaring ommisions.
“I can’t believe I forget to mention the Tuskegee Airmen. So wrong!”
Though he admitted he should have namecheked them during his Salute To America, Trump did his best to make up for it by singing their praises today , especially when it came to legendary fighter ace Frederick Douglass.
“Every single British pilot in a Me-109 was terrified at the prospect of encountering Group Captain Douglass over the fields of Pennsylvania.”
He then went on to commend the brave crew of the carrier fleet at Yorktown who stood fast despite relentless kamikazi attacks.
“Your nation salutes you.”
