Trump Says He Can Relate To Struggling Unpaid Federal Workers “I’ve Known Many Contractors Just Like You”

(The White House) President Trump has expressed sympathy for federal workers affect by the government shutdown, many of whom are being forced to work unpaid by this stage.

“I can relate to you, believe me.”

Asked to expand on his statement, the President said the experience of working hard only to be stiffed on your pay while you struggle to make ends meet was something he knew all too well from his time in the private sector.

“I know that expression of anger and disbelief because I’ve seen it on the face of every contractor I’ve hired.”

Trump insisted that no-one had a better idea of the suffering they are going through right now than he did.

“My experience of this type of situation is vast and personal.”
