President Trump has launched his re-election campaign with a warning to his supporters that they may not always like what they see him do and hear him say in 2020.
“I don’t like this any more than you but I may have to go on the attack this time.”
Advisors have warned Trump that the dignified avuncular image he cultivated in 2016 may not be sufficient in what is expected to be a cut-throat 2020 Presidential election.
“He doesn’t like it but says he’ll do his best to be critical of his opponents.”
The question is whether his base will still support him when he’s being negative instead of projecting the positive images that drew them to him in such large numbers in 2016.
“Hopefully they will hold their noses and remind themselves it’s only politics and not the caring man they know and love.”
We’ll all be holding our noses all right.
