Asked at a press conference if President Trump himself has stopped working as part of the government shutdown he has orchestrated, Sarah Huckabee Sanders today said White House aides were still trying to determine if that was the case.

“Apparently it’s hard to tell.”

The answer, they say, may depend on whether tweeting can be considered fulfilling the duties of the Presidency.

“If it can, then the answer is that the President is still very hard at work.”

Other activities that currently take up much of the President’s time, like eating cheeseburgers and watching cable for hours on end, would appear to suggest he has stopped working, though aides caution against rushing to conclusions.

“All that really tells us is that he’s probably working just as hard as usual.”
