As the controversy over President Trump’s call to a war widow and John Kelly’s handling of the aftermath continues, the President has decided to put the question of whether Obama did any better to rest by challenging his predecessor to a ‘condolence-off’.
“We’ll each make a call to some bereaved families and have them vote on who’s best.”
A scoring card will be issued allowing recipients of the calls to assign numerical ratings on categories including timeliness, name recollection, use of repetition and superlative adjectives for effect, and ‘overall impression’.
“You saw how I gave that guy cash? So much empathy!”
Trump says he won’t be surprised if Obama refuses to take up the challenge, which would be proof Obama knows he would lose.
“Nobody says ‘I’m sorry for your loss’ better than I do!”
